Rhodoneura acutalis Walker, [1866] (listed as Collinsa acutalis Walker, by some authors), Rhodoneura hamifera (Moore, 1888) and Rhodoneura fulvipicta (Warren, 1908) are very similar species, forming the "acutalis" group, a species complex.

Yoshiyasu et al (2017) placed Rhodoneura hamifera (Moore, 1888) in the genus Shafferiella Yoshiyasu, 2017; hence this species is revised to Shafferiella hamifera (Moore, 1888). Yoshiyasu et al (2017) stated that Rhodoneura acutalis Walker, [1866] probably also belongs to this genus.

Similar species: Rhodoneura acutalis Walker, [1866] (listed by Collinsa acutalis Walker, by some authors), Rhodoneura hamifera (Moore, 1888) and Rhodoneura fulvipicta (Warren, 1908) are very similar species, forming the "acutalis" group, a species complex.
http://www.pyralidsofborneo.org/index.php?collinsa-acutalis-walker1866-1865-plate-3 listed hamifera as a synonym of acutalis. However, Choi (2006) and Rayhan et al (2002) listed hamifera as valid taxon. The type locality of hamifera is "Assam", while that of acutalis is Indonesia. More investigation is needed on the status of this species complex. For now, we list this species as hamifera, and whether acutalis exists in India, needs verification.
