Taxonomic Information
Pachynoa Lederer, 1963 species known from India.
Pachynoa fuscilalis Hampson, 1891. India: Tamil Nadu, Nilgiri, S. slopes, 3000 ft (TL), Karnataka, Maharashtra.
Pachynoa grossalis (Guenée, 1854) (Botys). India: Meghalaya, Assam, Andaman Is.
Pachynoa hypsalis Hampson, 1896. India: Sikkim (TL), Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal.
Pachynoa mineusalis (Walker, 1859) (Zebronia). India: West Bengal; Myanmar.
Pachynoa sabelialis (Guenée, 1854) (Botys). India: Central India (TL), Chhatisgarh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala,
Pachynoa spilosomoides (Moore, 1886) (Pitacanda). Sri Lanka (TL), S. India.
Pachynoa xanthochyta (Turner, 1933) (Hypermeces). Australia (TL), India: Andaman & Nicobar Is.
Pachynoa thoosalis (Walker, 1859) (Botys). India: Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya.
As per exchanges with Terry Whitaker, it is likely that the Pachynoa species in the north-east India, are not Pachynoa xanthochyta (Turner, 1933) (TL: Australia) or Pachynoa spilosomoides (Moore, 1886) (TL: Sri Lanka), but an undescribed species, loosely assigned to the Pachynoa spilosomoides complex. South Indian species are probably Pachynoa spilosomoides (Moore, 1886).
