Altha subnotata

Based on Solovyev (2009), Altha subnotota (as also Altha (Belgoraea) nix, which is illustrated; Plate 7, Fig 6, pg 53) is smaller, has yellowish markings and black sub-marginal spots on FW/HW. Altha (Altha) nivea (Pl 7/Fig 5, pg 51) has more elongate forewings, larger grey or yellowish spots, single outer marginal black spot. However, the double black spot is variable based on my experience. In live individuals, I believe, subnotata is more silvery white, while nivea is brownish white. This needs reconfirmation. Wing shape is a better indicator between nivea and subnotata.
