Photo Gallery and Species Biology

Altha nivea (see Solovyev & Witt,  2009. Pl 7/Fig 5, pg 51) has more elongate forewings, larger grey or yellowish spots, single outer marginal black spot on forewing. However, the double marginal black spot of subnotata appears to be variable. In live individuals, subnotata is more silvery white, while nivea is brownish white. This needs reconfirmation. Wing shape is a better indicator between nivea and subnotata.
