Hampson vol 1, pg 49, # 59, Syn: G. postica
http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-3/eupterotidae/eupterotidae_2_2.php. Per MOB, “The oblique dark shading to the forewing distinguishes this species from plana”.
Lepindex mentions that Ganisa similis is junior synonym and valid name is Ganisa postica Mell, 1929.
MON Part 3, pg 64, pl 77/9. Kishida states in MON that both G. plana and G. similis are valid species with images for both. Kishida’s believes that G. postica is distributed in S. India and Sri Lanka while G. similis ranges from N. India to Sundaland. Smetacek (2008), however, lists both similis and postica from Nainital.
