Other Notes

Sameodes cancellalis (Zeller, 1852)

Separating Sameodes cancellalis (Zeller, 1852) and Epipagis peritalis (Walker, 1859)
Overall, Epipagis peritalis has smaller FW white spots when compared with cancellalis. W/HW cilia in Epipagis peritalis has an second black line through cilia base, making it a pair of black lines, which cancellalis consistently lacks. Second the cell spot in FW is small, with a larger one below it, and these spots are not quadrate, as in cancellalis. Wing shape (FW/HW) of Epipagis peritalis is slightly different, being narrower and more pointed at apex.
