Similar species: Agrotera scissalis (Walker, [1866]) and Sagariphora magnificalis Hampson, [1893].
Separating Agrotera scissalis (Walker, [1866]) and Sagariphora magnificalis Hampson, [1893],
HW basal area of scissalis is orange, while it is buff white in magnificalis. The FW medial line is straight in scissalis, while is it evenly convex in magnificalis (based on Robinson et al and Chen et al 2017; Hampson, 1896). In magnificalis, there is white suffusion beyond the medial line, only near costa, while in scissalis, the white suffusion is extensive beyond the medial line (however, this last feature is unreliable). Head, thorax and abdomen is yellow, irrorated with orange in scissalis, while in magnificalis, the centre of the thorax is fuscous, with bases being orange.
