Taxonomic Information

Note: This species is provisionally identified as Polypogon producta (Hampson, 1907). While its description matches P. producta well, this represents a new record for India and though its type locality is Sri Lanka; and its presence in S. India is not unexpected, its identify is best confirmed through genitalia dissection and/or molecular phylogeny.

Polypogon minoralis (Walker, [1866]). Sri Lanka (TL). 
Polypogon mundiferalis (Walker, [1866]). NE Himalaya. 
Polypogon planilinea (Hampson, 1898). India: Sikkim, Meghalaya (Khasi Hills). 
Polypogon vermiculata (Leech, 1900). India: Uttarakhand (Kumaon). Listed as Hermina vermiculata by Sanyal et al 2018. 
Polypogon neleusalis (Walker, [1859]). India; Sri Lanka. 
Polypogon producta (Hampson, 1907). India: Kerala; Sri Lanka.
