Similar species: Gampola taleaensis Joshi & N. Singh, 2016
As per Gampola talaensis OD: forewings, in males, short and broad, a costal fold and a costal fringe of scales present, inner margin distorted and fringed with long scales towards outer angle.
The original description of talaensis mentions that it is distinct from fasciata & sinica in having less prominent FW costal scales. Further it is stated that talaensis has the costal fold upto middle of costa - this is evident in the specimen image, stops short of the costal apical arch. The original description of sinica mentions that the costal fold is longer than half the costal length as in my observation. Further it is stated that the FW is brown with a strong diffuse darkening in the centre of the postdiscal part (seen in this observation), - this is not mentioned in talaensis, though there is some darkening seen in the specimen image. This coupled with the proximity of JD's record, not far from the OD in Jatinga, S. Assam is the reason why this is provisionally place as Gampola sinica
