Cyana moelleri (Elwes, 1890) -

Taxonomic Information

Cyana watsoni Hampson, 1897, Cyana moelleri (Elwes, 1890) and Cyana ariadne Volynkin & Černý, 2019 are very similar species that are almost inseparable based on external morphology. This individual is provisionally identified as Cyana moelleri (Elwes, 1890), based on its distribution in the E. Himalaya. Currently,  Cyana moelleri (Elwes, 1890) is known from E. Himalaya (Sikkim, N. West Bengal) while Cyana watsoni Hampson, 1897 is known from NE India at Assam (Nameri) and Meghalaya (Khasi Hills, Cherrapunji). Cyana ariadne Volynkin & Černý, 2019 is extralimital and known from North Thailand, North Vietnam and South East China  (Singh et al 2021).
