Cerynea igniaria (Hampson, 1898). Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
Cerynea punctilinealis (Walker, [1866]). TL: Sri Lanka. Indo-Australian tropics.
Cerynea contentaria (Walker, 1861). TL: Sarawak, Borneo. S. India; Sri Lanka.
Cerynea ustula (Hampson, 1898). India, Andaman Is.; Sri Lanka.
Cerynea contentaria (Walker, 1861) is a similar species.

Hampson (1894) treats Cerynea punctilinealis (Walker, [1866]) as synonym of Cerynea contentaria (Walker, 1861) and lists its distribution as "Nilgiris; Ceylon; Borneo". Holloway (2009) treats both Cerynea contentaria and Cerynea punctilinealis as valid species; both species are recorded in Borneo.
