Taxonomic Information
Based on Li & Li, H. (2012), Calamotropha melli Caradja & Meyrick, 1933 (India & Sri Lanka) and Calamotropha indica Bleszynski, S. 1961 (Sikkim, Sri Lanka, Bhutan) are very similar species; best told apart by genitalia. We are identifying this species, Calamotropha indica Bleszynski, S. 1961, provisionally, as the type locality of Calamotropha indica is the Himalayan region. However, genitalia dissection is need to confirm species identity of C. indica and C. melli with certainty.
