Its neither C lichenea : Bryophila lichenea Hampson, 1891; Ill. typical Spec. Lep. Het. Colln Br. Mus. 8: 72, pl. 144, f. 12; TL: Nilgiris ( 12 seems to be missing) See Image on iNaturalist from the old document: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/970760-Cryphia-lichenea

JD : had already seen the references for the other Cryphia spp, hence I had stated that their markings appear to be different. The lichenea illustration is not missing in pl 144, but mistakenly annotated as fig 14 at the right bottom of the plate.
This is most probably deceptura, but needed to check if there are any other Cryphis spp. from S. India missed out.
Check Seitz Vol 11 pg 44 & Pl 4i, all these three spp. are described & illustrated under Bryophila.
Kononenko et al also treated this under Bryophila, MOT Vol 3 pt 2 Pl 42/39 - the post-medial banding is complete there, but there seems to several variations as in this observation
SS:Cryphia deceptura (Walker, 1865) as provisional ID. I agree that lichenea and nilgiria are different, with the latter being closest. Quite a few discrepancies with descriptions, but close enough for provisional ID.
Bryophila postochrea; Hampson, FBI, Vol. 2, pg. 298.
