Similar species: Aergina hilaris and Aergina retracta (Walker, 1865)
The species (A. hilaris) is somewhat similar to A. mirza, but in A. hilaris the forewing green area is broader. This species (Aergina mirza) is characterized externally by a narrow medial green area in the forewings, which is similar to A. retracta, but this area is slightly wider in A. mirza

Diagnosis (Solovyev 2014): The forewing length is 9–10 mm in males and about 13 mm in females. This species is distinguished from its congeners by a narrow, sinusoid medial green area in the forewings; this area has a very narrow neck medially, and may be reduced near the costa. Externally it may be confused with A. mirza, but the green area in the forewings of A. retracta is narrower.
