Semidonta nigribasis dentata , Schintlmeister World Catalogue of Notodontidae, considered as a subspecies of nigribasis
Lepindex considers this as a valid species
The MOI website needs to be updated for Hyperaeschrella nigribasis, as it is now revised to Semidonta nigribasis vide Lepindex , & iNat.
However, also view Note 331 on MOB - https://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-2/family-notodontidae.php#:~:text=Semidonta%20nigribasis%20Hampson%20(Part%204:%20p.%2072%2C%20as%20insulicola%20Kiriakoff&text=Schintlmeister%20(1994b:%20229)%20placed%20insulicola%20and%20dentata%20Hampson%20(but%20(S%20&%20P)
RR: Originally described as Semidonta dentata Hampson, 1892 (later also cited as Hyperaeschrella dentata), this taxon was revised by Schintlmeister (1994), who placed it as a synonym of Semidonta nigribasis based on genitalia characters. This treatment is followed by Schintlmeister & Lourens (2010) and Moths of Borneo (Holloway, 1983–2011). While some databases (GBIF, LepIndex, Funet) still show both names, the current consensus recognizes dentata only as a synonym of nigribasis.
SS: Moths of Laos, pg. 157, Hyperaeschrella Strand, 1916
Notes. Schintlmeister (2008: 333) treated Hyperaeschrella as a synonym of Semidonta. But this treatment is wrong according to the molecular analysis (Kobayashi & Nonaka, 2016: 35), and they revived Hyperaeschrellare as a good genus. So MOI treatment is good. Yet to review the species.
