Dissected, hence male.

Diagnosis: Ourapteryx primularis (♂FWL: 36-40 mm) can be separated from O. sciticaudaria (Walker, [1863]) by the smaller size of O. sciticaudaria (♂FWL: 28-32 mm), and more vivid lemon yellow coloration and stronger striations of O. primularis (Inoue 1995). Ourapteryx primularis has two black spots below the tail, a black-ringed large red spot above the tail, and a very small black spot above the red spot. Ourapteryx sciticaudaria lacks the lower most black spot below the tail. Ourapteryx primularis has fuscous striae in the postmedial area, which is fused into a band in sciticaudaria.
