Singh, N. 2019. Moths of Bihar and Jharkhand, Rec. zool. Surv. India, Occasional Paper No., 400: 1-180 (Published by the Director, Zool. Surv. India, Kolkata). Holloway (1982) suggested this is a species complex with chlora being extralimital to India.
Singh, N. 2019 dissected Pingasa chlora and stated distribution is all of India..
Suggest publish as Pingasa chlora complex. Also uploading specimen from Shendurney.
JD: this is a worn out specimen as visible in the underwing image. Hence that could also be a reason for the overall paler appearance. Hence this should be a provisional id.
SS: OK, I will publish both this and my image as Pingasa chlora with a provisional ID.
GI: Do not agree that this P chlora. Look at the underside pattern in this and in Sanjay Sondhi's upload and Rachit's uploaded on the MOI website. the UN matches more with Rachit's upload than Sanjay's. Hence this should be published as Pingasa spp. The upperside of P chlora, P lariaria and P dispensata have a lot of similarities. Does not appear to be a worn out specimen.
SS: Staying with Pingasa spp.
