SS: Swinhoe (1923) lists Artaxa citrina, leithiana, erecta and brevivitta as synonyms of Nygmia semisignata.
Provisionally being identified as Euproctis leithiana. Perhaps it is best to treat this as a species complex.

Significant confusion on which species this is. Hampson (1896) and Swinhoe (1923) lists Artaxa citrina, leithiana, erecta and brevivitta as synonyms of Nygmia semisignata. If this is correct, then Euproctis semisignata (Walker, 1865) is the valid taxon. Lepindex and Funet list all these as valid taxon, From a description standpoint, this species matches the description of Euproctis leithiana (Moore, 1879). Hence this species is provisionally published as Euproctis leithiana (Moore, 1879), with a cf, pending investigation of all the taxon for synonymy.
