Hampson, FBI, Vol. 2, pg. 355. Differs from Dinumma placens in ante-medial and post-medial areas of FW being purplish-red brown in both sexes; the basal and medial patch, deep black, the latter with inner edge more sinuous, the outer more irregular; black patches on outer margin below apex and at centre without blue lines on them.

GI: There are minor differences seen in the( photographs ) references quoted. Each seems to be differing in small points from the other. My other question is the pattern seen in the outer margin of the wings. While almost all the images in the different references quoted, including from jpmoth.org. Moth photographers group, Hampson etc have the white marking appearing horizonally ( see http://www.jpmoth.org/~dmoth/80_Noctuidae/13_Calpinae/04_Scoliopterygini/4317_Dinumma_deponens/Dinumma_deponens.htm) in in this specimen the white appears as vertical lines.
