Hypena conscitalis or Rhynchina?
SS: Does not look like Hypena conscitalis. Probably Rhynchina spp/ Only a few species from S. India. Check list below.

Rhynchina sigillata (Butler, 1889). TL: Dharamsala.

RPS: The S Indian species- R. tenuipalpis and R. leucogonia don't seem to match well, based on OD and some patchy records.
I think R. rivuligera is the closest match to the individual here. The ground color is a bit different and block orbicular spot is missing or barely visible. Perhaps a provisional ID can be given.
OD: Rhynchina rivuligera Butler, 1889 Illustrations of typical specimens of Lepidoptera Heterocera in the collection of the British Museum Ill. typical Spec. Lep. Het. Colln Br. Mus. 7 : 1-124, pl. 121-138. Text at- https://archive.org/details/illustrationsoft07brituoft/page/84/mode/1up?view=theater&q=rivuligera
Plate (fig 14,15) is a fairly good match as well- https://archive.org/details/illustrationsoft07brituoft/page/n158/mode/1up?view=theater

Mayerl & Lödl, 1999. Revision der Gattung Rhynchina Guenée, 1854 (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Hypeninae) Quadrifina 2 : 1-124. Page 20, figure (Abb.) 3. PDF is here- https://www.zobodat.at/pdf/Quad_2_0001-0124.pdf

The difference between sexes is noted in Butler, 1889 as "curves upwards in the male, but turns with a well-defined angle in the female", but difficult to judge this due to lack of photos.

For R. tenuipalpis: Plate from Hampson, 1891a Illustrations of typical specimens of Lepidoptera Heterocera in the collection of the British Museum. Part VIII.—The Lepidoptera Heterocera of the Nilgiri District. https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/23339516#page/171/mode/1up
