Moths of Tale, Sondhi et al 2021. Image 500. Incorrectly identified as Syllepte nigriflava (Swinhoe, 1894). This should be Gadessa attemptalis (Snellen, 1890)
FBI, Hampson, vol. 4, pg. 310, # 4906. Incorrectly treats Botys attemptalis as a synonym of Dichrosis nelusalis, which is dull grey, and attemptalis is “glossy, uniform luteous”.
https://oumnh.ox.ac.uk/collections-online#/item/oum-catalogue-385182 These individuals seem to have faded with time, and are no longer “glossy, uniform luteous”, though the markings are good.

JR: The type specimen of Botys attemptalis Snellen looks exactly like your observation. I agree with the identification.
GI: Agree with ID
