Plotkin, D. and Kawahara, A.Y., 2020. Review of recent taxonomic changes to the emerald moths (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Geometrinae). Biodiversity Data Journal, 8. 1-30. States subspoliata is raised to species level.
Probably replaces Herochroma cristata in South India. I think this is the only Herochroma from S. India.
Herochroma costata Kirti, Goyal & Kaur, 2012. This was described from Karnataka. This species name is thus considered a nomen nudum (Plotkin & Kawahara, 2020).
GI: Yes this is likely Herochroma subspoliata (Prout, 1916). In the KMTR paper we have only given a tentative id as Herochroma cf cristata Warren, 1894. But the references given above point clearly to H subspoliata. I agree with the ID
The paper by Kirti,Goyal & Kaur 2012 has several ids that fall under the category of nomen nudum, hence to be ignored.
