Lophoptera squammigera
SS: Lophoptera squammigera Guenée, 1852 is a species complex, all have a grey/white longitudinal band on forewing, consisting of the following similar species known from India.
Lophoptera squammigera Guenée, 1852. Oriental tropics.
Lophoptera squammilinea Holloway, 1985. NE India.
Lophoptera vittigera Walker, 1865. S. India; Sri Lanka.
These are reliably separated by examining male genitalia; possibly provisionally identified by external features.
This is probably Lophoptera squammilinea Holloway, 1985
Lophoptera squammilinea Holloway, 1985 Malay. Nat. J. , 38: 273, pl. 6: 250, 281. Holotype: male, India: Khasia Hills ( BMNH).

The forewing has a distinctive white line as in Lophoptera lineigera (extralimital), but more extensive greyish markings grading away posterior to this.
Lophoptera squammigera: This species resembles L. squammilinea Holloway, 1985, but differs externally by grey longitudinal strip on the forewing, which is white in L. squammilinea.
