I am unable to find any record of this or the closely resembling C horridipes from India. Holloway says, "Bell (MS) reared the larva of an undescribed S. Indian species that appears closely related to pallivaga sp. n..." and only genitalia can separate it from pallivarga. There is strong sexual dimorphism amongst these species. The females of pallivarga and horridipes almost look alike. So i have given only a tentative id. the jury is out there. May be it can go as just Crithote sp.
