The male differs from Somena scintillans & Orvasca subnotata with the FW yellow margin unbroken with an irregular border & two slight protrusions of the reddish brown zone into it centrally & subcostally, that do not reach the margin.

The female is similar to Somena scintillans & Orvasca subnotata, but without or with a weak third apical yellow patch on FW.
