Taxonomic Information

Eight species of Hypopyra Guenee, 1852 are known from India. They are very variable, and are best identified by upperside and underside details. 

Hypopyra burmanica (Hampson, 1913). Myanmar.

Hypopyra feniseca Guenée, 1852. Nepal, India.

Hypopyra meridionalis (Hampson, 1913). Sri Lanka, S. & C. India. 

Hypopyra ossigera Guenée, 1852. C. India. 


Hypopyra pudens Walker, 1858. India.

Hypopyra spermatophora (Hampson, 1913). Assam. 

Hypopyra unistrigana Guenée, 1852. India. 

Hypopyra vespertilio (Fabricius, 1787). India. Western Ghats.
