Basis the original description, H. approximata is separated from H. osacesalis as follows: much smaller, length of forewing 16mm, Forewing more or less paler, apical area more widely white, hindwing with postmedian fascia consisting of two double lines forked and expanded posteriorly, subterminal fascia also two double lines of blackish-brown, but inner Iines interrupted on veins, termen nearly as straightish as in osacesalis. One of clear separators is the double lines on HW of approximata; single in osacesalis.
