The individual represented by the life cycle cf635-644 on this website has larva that matches that of Orvasca subnotata Walker, 1865, but has entirely yellow hindwings, which represents a descrepancy to the description of orvasca, wherein both sexes of this species have HW brown with marginal yellow even border.

Both sexes of Orvasca subnotata similar to female of S. scintillans but the forewing is paler, crossed by two distinct, whitish median lines. Yellow border lacks iridescent scales like in S. scintillans (MON). Male: FW: brownish protrusions touch wing margin. HW: brown with marginal yellow even border. Female: FW: brownish protrusions touch wing margin. HW: brown with marginal yellow even border. FW costa is brown. Orvasca subnotata larva lacks crimson tubercles on lateral surface.
