Ian Kitching's comments: C. chinensis is found in SE China, northern Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. I has slightly less elongate forewings and different genitalia. Analysis of DNA barcodes suggests that Cypoides viethangae from northern Vietnam (SA Pa) ( [accessed 01 May 2019] is closely related to Cypoides parachinensis. However, the only currently available sequence is a short sequence of 283bp and the morphology of the two taxa appears to differ, so further study is required.
