Similiar species:
The Saturnia grotei Moore, 1859 group consists of numerous species in the Himalayan range. Species in the Indian subcontinent are: 

Saturnia lindia Moore, 1865. J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand (?). 
Saturnia grotei Moore, 1859. West Bengal and Sikkim.
Saturnia paragrotei Naumann & Nässig, 2010. Nepal and Uttarakhand (?).
Saturnia rosalata Naumann & Nässig, 2010. Nepal.
Saturnia bonita (Jordan, 1911). Nepal, Sikkm, W. Bhutan.

The Uttarakhand populations of this species group are likely to be S. lindia, but could also be S. paragrotei
