Similiar species:
Other Botyodes spp. Hindwing brown margin narrower then B. asialis. The forewing discal spot fairly prominent and the postdiscal line more continous then B. principalis. Meroctena tullalis forewing brown margin extends to costa. Botyodes caldusalis without brown markings on forewing termen.
